The Bay of Bengal lies at the heart of Asian Confluence’s vision for regional cooperation and connectivity. As a shared space linking South and Southeast Asia, it is both a cradle of ancient civilizational linkages and a hub of modern trade, culture, and ecological interdependence. Our work in the region spans dialogues on rivers and water governance, sustainable tourism, cross-border trade, climate resilience, and people-to-people engagement. By bringing together stakeholders from littoral and land-linked countries, we highlight the Bay of Bengal as a space of opportunity where shared challenges—such as climate change, livelihood security, and connectivity gaps—can be addressed collectively. Asian Confluence seeks to reimagine the Bay of Bengal not as a periphery, but as a vibrant centre of cooperation, exchange, and sustainable growth for the wider Indo-Pacific.
