The Cross-Cultural Significance of the Mound Burial System of Assam

India hosted the 46th session of the World Heritage Committee in July this year in New Delhi. During the session, Indias nomination, Moidams – The Mound Burial System of the Ahom Dynasty, was considered under the Cultural Property category and has now been inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This brings the total number of World Heritage Sites in India to 43.
