From Khasi Hills to Jeju Shores: Lessons from Women-Centric Governance Systems

All over the world, indigenous societies have unique ways of governing themselves. In many of these communities, women play key roles, especially in managing resources. We find this among the Khasi and Garo tribes of Meghalaya in Northeast India, the Mosuo society in China, and the Haenyeo divers in Jeju, South Korea among others.
