Three recent events and their aftermath––the March 28, 2025 Myanmar earthquake in the midst of worsening strife in that country, the tariff wars unleashed by the USA on 02 April 2025 and the recently concluded 6th Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) Leaders’ Summit in the same week have each provided separate perspectives on the subject of Bay of Bengal cooperation. Considering the economic, political, social and security dimensions of the myriad issues that nations in the region are grappling with, the outcome of these three events offer insights that can be gainfully employed to rejuvenate collaboration between the Bay of Bengal (BoB) littorals.
