Border Fencing and the Need for Sensible Securitization

Border Fencing and the Need for Sensible Securitization

On 9th April 2025, Naga organisations representing all major tribes staged a protest in Kohima against the centre’s proposed fencing of the Indo-Myanmar border and signed a memorandum demanding revocation of the order. The demonstration which saw participation of around 20 organisations based in Kohima including the Angami Public Organisation, Konyak Union, Khiamniugan Union and Yimkhiung Union proved to be a remarkable show of solidarity and strength by the Naga community in their ongoing opposition to border fencing.
