On 31st May, 2025, Saturday, Asian Confluence, a premier think tank, hosted the screening of the film Yojongandha – A Turbulent Voyage, an Ubaacho presentation conceptualized, designed, and directed by Sanjoy Ghosh Dastidar. The event drew members of Shillong’s cultural and intellectual elite, alongside enthusiastic participation from young students of a local film institute.

The screening was followed by an engaging interactive session that sparked vital discussions and raised several pertinent questions. Shri Manas Chaudhuri, former Higher Education Minister of Meghalaya, described the film as both “a unique and daring experiment,” noting that it offered a classical Indian perspective on women's emancipation, distinct from the Western women's liberation movement.

Padma Shri Patricia Mukhim, Editor of The Shillong Times, expressed her admiration for the originality of the production, remarking that she was "bewildered" by its bold artistic vision. She also reflected on how the issues portrayed—particularly those concerning the exploitation of women—remain relevant in today’s society.

The audience responded with deep appreciation, showing keen interest in understanding the creative process behind the film's seamless integration of multiple art forms.

On Thursday, 29th May, the film was also screened at IIM Shillong as part of a workshop on Management and Liberal Arts. This unique initiative was conducted under the guidance of Professor Sanjoy Mukherjee from the Strategy and Liberal Studies Group at IIM Shillong.
