Asian Confluence in collaboration with Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) organised a workshop on the folk theatre of Manipur. The origin of Manipuri Theatre is a continuation of the traditional ways of public performances and dance rituals to the modern theatre. The workshop was organised with the aim to promote such an age-old tradition where the art of solo story telling along with folk music and dance was exemplified to the participants who were enthralled by the entire experience. Asian Confluence by way of such initiatives looks to foster cultural exchange and revive such indigenous traditions which are slowly dying out. The Manipuri Theatre has a rich historical and cultural background and such an artistic expression creates a strong sense of national culture in Manipur.
