 The Organization for Inclusive Development (OFID) along with Barefoot Trust and Asian Confluence presented an interaction on “Navigational Perception and Echolocation” at the Asian Confluence Center, Shillong on the 25th of July 2019. This technique enables people with visual impairment to navigate around any environment with freedom.

Mr Thomas Tajo, who will be presenting the session had lost his vision at an early age, and since, has trained himself as an exponent on Echolocation Flash Sonar and Perceptual Navigation. He is also an instructor for the Visioneers which is an organization based in California. This is a one-of-its-kind talk in the North East of India and Mr Tajo will be talking about the impact of this skill-set for the people in the North East. This will include video, audio presentations and followed by interactions. The program will also be a fund-raiser for OFID towards conducting more programs for the persons with visual impairment.
