Linking North East India And The ASEAN Through Culture, Talk By Satish C. Mehta, Dg, ICCR

Asian Confluence hosted Mr. Satish C. Mehta, the Director General of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), along with a host of Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) members to address a group of select audience from Shillong. In the occasion of his visit, Mr. Mehta stressed on the importance of culture which is an instrumental factor in connecting North East India with South-East Asian countries. He reckons that although there are historical and political disputes between countries, there should be a better understanding of other cultures. He also highlighted the role of religions such as Buddhism and Hinduism in contributing enormously in creating connections between India and South-East Asian countries.
