Asian Confluence in collaboration with Bethany Society, Shillong organised a film screening of ‘Dhobi Ghat’, an Oscar nominated film. The purpose of the screening was for the audience to witness a progressive Indian Cinema and experience a work of fine art. The film is directed by Kiran Rao as part of her directorial debut.
The audience were enthralled by the unique experience as they went on an emotional journey with the lives of the different characters in the movie. The movie was a blend of a variety of human emotions like pain, humiliation, fulfilment, disappointment and friendship. The audience were left with an eye opening experience as the movie concluded.
