Celebrating Manipur Patriots Day, With Naba And Naba

The stage was all set to commemorate the occasion of Manipur ‘Patriots Day’ as Asian Confluence in collaboration with Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Shillong welcomed the Naba and Naba group to enthral the audience with their musical performance. The programme was organized as a step to foster cultural exchange and reflect on Manipur’s glorious history in the form of music.
Patriots Day is celebrated in honour of the people who sacrificed their lives to protect the independence of Manipur in the Anglo-Manipur war, 1891.
The audience witnessed Nabachandra Singh (popularly known Vocal Naba and father of N. Munish Singh, Regional Officer - ICCR) along with Naba Sharma (popularly known as Volcano Naba), G Khongji and Ramyajit Bhattacharjee on the Keyboard in an hour long performance which left them spell bound. The musical event was successfully able to bring about the culture of Manipur into the domain of Meghalaya.
