Brainstorming Session on "Building Entrepreneurship The German Way"

Asian Confluence hosted a one day brainstorming session on entrepreneurship, lending weightage to the Prime Minister’s “Make in India” campaign. German Consul General Rainer Schmiedchen addressed an audience of young entrepreneurs, students, and teachers. He said that “India and Germany have an excellent relationship, and the Berlin airport still decorated with 'make in India' buntings from the time Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Germany for Industrial fair at Hanover.”
 
M.P. Bezbaruah, Member North Eastern Council expressed his sadness over the fact that North Eastern states export raw materials and have allowed value addition to take place outside.
 
Founding director of IIM Shillong, Prof. Ashoke Kumar Dutta, who is working closely with Asian Confluence, highlighted that "the objective of Asian Confluence is to create bridge of understanding and cooperation between the North Eastern region and South East Asia.” Meghalaya Chief Secretary, P.B.O. Warjri emphasised the need to give dignity to all kinds of manual labour.
 
Mr. Schmiedchen expressed his concern over tourism sector; he said that "the tourism sector in Meghalaya should have better infrastructures”. He further added “the state should have a better airport and more private airline companies should operate in the region to connect it with mainland.”
