Asian Confluence hosted a book launch where Mr. Deep Kumar Biswa, retired Auditor of the Defence Accounts, released his book entitled ‘Play more to win more’ in the presence of the author’s family along with a host of eminent guests.
Biswas, declared that his book is intended to reach out to the youth who are clueless about their goals in life. He further added that the book is based on his experience of involvement on a voluntary mission for empowering the youth. He introduced Mr. A. Zulfi, managing director of Grace City, to the audience as his inspiration for writing the book. He pointed out that parents and guardians do not guide today’s youth adequately, and there is a want of value education among the youth in spite of their academic achievements and professional skills.
Mr. A. Zulfi gave the welcome speech and Key note address for the Book Launch. He termed the book ‘a refreshing experience’ and emphasised on the fact that “children are not playing as they get hounded by competitiveness”. “Winning is not about winning in competition, but winning in life by struggling to fight the odds in our life,” he added.
An interactive session was also arranged for the audience to interact with the author. During the session, Mr. Biswa talked about his motivation for writing the book, and disclosed the fact that he was diagnosed with a fatal disease which could not stop him to continue his work. The event also witnessed Mr. Kalid Khan, senior lawyer, who addressed the audience, followed by Manosh Das, senior journalist Times of India, and by Patricia Mukhim, chief editor of Shillong Times.
