Context
August 15 is an important day in Indian history as India got its independence on this day in 1947. This day is also the birth anniversary of the great Indian philosopher Sri Aurobindo Ghose. On August 15, 1947, when India got its independence, Sri Aurobindo gave a message to his country. In his message, he said that India’s independence was not only a major event for India but Asia and the world as he viewed India as a new power with great potentialities to play a significant role in determining the political, social, cultural and spiritual future of humanity. This message seems more relevant today, than ever before.
