‘East And West: A Confluence’ - Rap Performance By Borkung Hrangkhawl

A Rap performance by Borkung Hrangkhawl was hosted by Asian Confluence with a purpose to celebrate the local talents of Meghalaya and showcase the confluence of Western and Eastern cultures.
 
Borkung is an Indian rapper, songwriter and singer, who is also the first rap artist from Meghalaya to make it to the limelight. His music is all about blending and collaborating with other artists from different musical backgrounds and his songs include themes of the struggle against discrimination, injustice, and racism.
 
Borkung Hrangkhawl, also known as BK, enthralled the audience with his freestyle Rap performance where he performed alongside ‘Khasi Bloodz’, a Shillong based rap group. Rapping is a musical form of vocal delivery which originated in the western countries. Over the years the musical form has gained much popularity around the world and is now making its way into Shillong which is also known to be the Rock Capital of India. Music transcends boundaries and connects people from different cultural backgrounds.
