Screening of Documentary Film “U THIED KA LAWEI (Sustainable Root) 15th April, 2017.
The event saw an audience ranging from eminent fellows namely: Ian Khongmen, Randolph V. Langstieh, the film’s Director, Social activist Mr. Toki Blah, Binayak Dutta and others, each participating and sharing their insights on the subject.
Ian opines that in order to maintain these root bridges; we need to include the matter into school curriculums. Toki Blah expressed his desire to show the documentary publicly; to make the people aware about the dying culture. Randolph urged the people to “watch the film with seriousness” and sincerity. Binayak commended Rudolph, saying, “He is a creative genius who has planted the seed, which will germinate into a tree” so that the people will be conscious about these heritage sites.
There was an eye-opening interactive session after the screening, participated by individuals from all walks of life; each drawing sincere thoughts of how important is the conservation of nature and the preservation of the sui generis Culture of the Khasi-Pnar Community.
