This paper explores the role of connectivity in interweaving economies/countries in the developmental process. Specifically, it examines land connectivity – rail, road and air – and its potential as a means to integrate and enhance the prospect of growth and development between North Eastern Region (NER) of India with India’s near abroad within the framework of the Act East Policy. Further, it has been argued that of the three forms of overland linkage, the need for air connectivity is indispensable when the calling is for integration.
